FAQ
Answers to your questions about the dangers of formaldehyde and our formaldehyde-removal services.
Formaldehyde is widely present in building materials and furniture — particularly engineered wood boards (such as plywood and particleboard), adhesives, paints, carpets and wallpaper glue. Newly renovated units and newly purchased furniture usually release the highest concentrations of formaldehyde.
The treatment time depends on the size of the unit and the package chosen. For a typical 400–600 sq ft (saleable area) unit, the entire spraying and purification process takes about 3 to 5 hours.
Our solutions begin breaking down formaldehyde immediately on contact with air and light, so you will notice a significant reduction in pungent odours the same day. For the best results, we recommend keeping the unit ventilated for 24 to 48 hours after treatment so the catalytic coating can reach its full effect.
We use eco-friendly formaldehyde-removal solutions and photocatalytic coatings that hold international safety certifications, with ingredients meeting strict safety standards. Applied to standard procedure and with proper ventilation after completion, they are suitable for homes with pregnant women, infants, the elderly or pets.
For your safety and to avoid disrupting our technicians, we strongly recommend that customers leave the unit during treatment. Once the work is complete, our technician will let you know it is ready and the unit is ready for you to return.
Yes. We provide long-lasting photocatalytic and light-free catalytic coatings that generally remain effective for several years. We also offer post-treatment testing to ensure formaldehyde levels meet the standard.
We take readings with professional formaldehyde-testing instruments both before and after treatment and show you the comparison on the spot. The Hong Kong EPD IAQ guideline sets 0.08ppm as the "Good Class" level, and we commit to reducing the concentration below it.
Pricing is based mainly on the saleable area of the unit (in square feet) and the protection package you choose. For example, the Basic package is HK$4/sq ft with a minimum charge of HK$1,980. Different packages use different solutions and cover different areas to suit a range of renovation situations.
Formaldehyde gas travels through the air throughout your home, so even if you only replaced some furniture, the formaldehyde released still affects the air quality of the whole unit. We recommend whole-home protection, or using the Advanced or Premium package to target new furniture and high-risk areas, to ensure thorough purification.
You can reach us through the website form or WhatsApp. Once you provide your unit’s saleable area, renovation status and expected move-in date, our customer service team will give you a quote and recommend a suitable package. After confirmation, we will schedule our professional team to carry out the treatment on-site.
